Gluon Insight is a boutique Brand Protection agency with extensive experience in investigations and Intellectual Property. We keep a low profile, but we have been partnering up with major international brands operating across different industries, from fashion to automotive, skincare and FMCG.

We are now looking for a superstar open-source investigator (or with the potential to become one) to join our team in Dublin and help us further develop our intelligence-led approach to Brand Protection.

Job profile

We are looking for candidates with a strong analytical mindset, passionate about investigating bad actors and gathering the evidence needed for successful enforcement.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting deep, comprehensive investigations into the sale of counterfeit items and other unauthorised sales using open-source data, and liaise with clients and partners, including Law Enforcement agencies.

Whether you are an intelligence professional or a recent graduate with a passion for open-source investigation, we are seeking proactive, self-starting candidates ready to take charge in a fast-moving, unstructured startup environment.

The job will be office-based in Dublin 15.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor online marketplaces, identify suspicious sellers and conduct in-depth open-source investigations on individuals, corporate entities and networks of infringers
  • Produce high-quality intelligence reports based on the information retrieved in the course of your investigation, maintaining meticulous records of all research for evidence purposes
  • Lead calls with clients, take them through your findings and discuss the enforcement strategy for each case, keeping accurate tracking of their progress
  • Conduct and process test purchases from online sellers, occasionally engaging with them to gather further intelligence
  • Coordinate online takedowns with service providers and offline enforcement actions (such as C&D letters and Law Enforcement investigations) with external partners
  • Drive innovation and stay up-to-date with the latest OSINT tools, techniques and emerging trends

Skills & Experience

  • Exceptional research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven experience in open-source intelligence, brand protection investigations, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to understand client's needs, think strategically and provide top-quality support
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive legal issues
  • A working knowledge of Python, data visualization tools, and/or analytical platforms (such as Maltego) is preferred
  • Willingness to adapt to the needs of a small team and take on additional tasks when required
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of social media channels
