We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized BC(a)R Assistant to join our dynamic BC(a)R department. The role focuses on administrative support, document control, and ensuring compliance with Building Control (Amendment) Regulations. Reporting to the BC(a)R Department Lead, the successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating submissions, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality compliance services. Familiarity with construction documentation systems, particularly Zutec, will be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the BC(a)R team.
  • Coordinate meetings, manage schedules, and prepare documentation for team activities.
  • Track project timelines and submission deadlines to ensure compliance.

Document Control

  • Maintain and organize records for Building Control submissions, inspection plans, and project certifications.
  • Ensure all documents are accurately filed, updated, and accessible within relevant systems.
  • Use document management platforms, such as Zutec, to facilitate efficient workflow and compliance tracking.

Building Control Compliance Support

  • Assist in compiling Building Control submission packs, including ancillary certificates and inspection plans.
  • Monitor the status of submissions and notify the team of outstanding requirements.
  • Support the preparation of reports and audits for regulatory bodies and clients.

Team Coordination

  • Act as a point of contact for the BC(a)R team, handling queries and routing information to appropriate team members.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of information and documentation.

System & Data Management

  • Input, review, and update project data in compliance tracking systems like Zutec.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within document and data management.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

A qualification in Business Administration, Document Management, or a related field is desirable.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or document control role, ideally within construction, engineering, or architecture.
  • Familiarity with Zutec or similar document management software is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
