As a Business Developer, you will focus on a portfolio of key contractors & fabricators critical to the Hilti Pharma, Datacentre, and Energy sectors. You will be responsible for creating and executing a strategy to increase the adoption of Hilti Pre-fabrication solutions within this eco-system. Additionally, you will help coordinate projects within capture teams, collaborating closely with Hilti teams.

What does the role involve?

As a Business Developer in the Industry segment, your primary objective will be to strategically build and expand relationships with complex clients across the value chain within the Irish domestic market. Your focus will be to identify, engage, and support Key Players in the segment, addressing their specific needs and challenges through the Systematic Account Development approach.

You will work closely with the Sales Team, Regional and Global Segment Managers, BD Communities, Engineering, Project Management Office (PMO), and Fieldwire teams to drive profitable growth across the segments.

You will act as the primary expert for the segments in Ireland, leveraging your knowledge of market trends, applications, product offerings, the competitive landscape, and Hilti's value proposition. This includes collaborating internally with the PMO to develop specifics for projects at the design phase and working closely with Construction Project Managers (CPMs). You will also prepare and conduct training sessions for key stakeholders, both internal and external.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing segment strategies, go-to-market plans, and brand awareness initiatives, working closely with the Technical Director.

  • Accountable for the Development of Key Contractors: Oversee the development of key contractors in the Off Site Manufacturing (OSM) sector through account standardization, project specification, sales development, and multi-level relationship management to increase Hilti's pre-fabrication offering.
  • Strategic Development and Implementation: Lead the strategy for assigned accounts and drive its implementation through collaboration with Hilti counterparts at regional and global levels. Take ownership of the project pipeline and proactively build with collaboration with CPM Hilti capture teams to focus on projects utilizing OSM as a key part of the scope.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide insights to confirm and update segment strategies based on market intelligence.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain effective communication throughout the team and act as the owner of assigned accounts.
  • Account Development: Identify and develop accounts collaboratively with the sales and engineering teams.
  • Account Development Plan (ADP): Define and lead the ADP and strategic approach for Segment Focus Accounts.
  • Proactive Account Management: Manage BD Focus Accounts/Specifiers by initiating and maintaining long-term relationships.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with global and local departments on complex opportunities.
  • Training Coordination: Create and coordinate segment-specific training for the Sales Team.
  • Brand Awareness Initiatives: Implement activities to increase brand awareness within the segment.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with Regional and Global Segment Managers on sub-segment strategies.
What you need is:
  • Engineering / Technical background with strong commercial capabilities and relevant experience.
  • Proactive, results-driven, innovative, and adaptable attitude.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional, matrix environments.
