Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Job Description
Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The duties include:

  1. Assisting in preparing the kitchen for opening, including preparing food for daily meals.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of nutritious meals for members.
  3. Maintaining the kitchen area, keeping appropriate records, and meeting HACCP requirements (e.g., temperature checks, cupboard rotation).
  4. Performing temperature checks on refrigerators and freezers.
  5. Working on menu plans and stock controls.
  6. Adhering to health and safety policies.
  7. Ensuring the use of appropriate cleaning products and equipment, and keeping the kitchen clean at all times.
  8. Using and wearing protective clothing and gloves while cooking as per HACCP requirements.
  9. Being aware of Food and Safety procedures at all times.
  10. Undertaking appropriate training when required.
  11. Working as part of a team.
