Volunteer HR Specialist - BRIA (Brazil Ireland Association)

Organisation Overview: BRIA is an association dedicated to supporting Brazilian professionals in Ireland as they navigate the challenges of seeking employment, advancing their careers, and integrating into the Irish job market. Our mission is to provide a support network, resources, and professional development opportunities that enhance the professional profile and integration of Brazilians in Ireland.

Location: Remote (Ireland)

Time Commitment: 3 hours per week

Role Overview:

As a Volunteer HR Specialist at BRIA, you will help shape and manage the human resources functions of the organisation. You will play a vital role in supporting BRIA's team and volunteers, contributing to recruitment, training, and the development of best practices. Your work will directly support BRIA's efforts to build a strong, motivated team that can deliver our mission of assisting Brazilian professionals in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process for new volunteers, from sourcing and interviewing candidates to onboarding and training them for their roles.

HR Policies & Procedures: Develop and implement HR policies, guidelines, and processes that align with BRIA's mission and ensure a supportive environment to volunteers.

Training & Development: Organize and deliver training programs for volunteers to enhance their skills and ensure they are trained to contribute effectively to BRIA's initiatives.

Volunteer Support & Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive working environment by supporting volunteer engagement and maintaining open lines of communication with the team.

Performance Management: Assist in the development of a volunteer performance evaluation process, providing constructive feedback and recognizing outstanding contributions.

Conflict Resolution: Act as a point of contact for volunteers, helping resolve any interpersonal or work-related issues and promoting a healthy, collaborative environment.

Diversity & Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion in volunteer recruitment and team development to reflect the multicultural nature of the community we serve.

HR Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, roles, and feedback, and provide regular reports on HR activities to the BRIA leadership team.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in human resources, volunteer management, or a related field (volunteer experience is welcome).

Strong understanding of HR best practices, particularly in recruitment, onboarding, and team engagement.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Portuguese and English.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Passion for supporting the Brazilian community in Ireland and helping volunteers grow professionally.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks.

Familiarity with the challenges faced by immigrants in the Irish job market is a plus.
