The Resort Accountant will be responsible for the day to day management of the resort's finance function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be qualified with accredited (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) and be an effective team player with excellent attention to detail.

Overview Of The Role
  1. Reviewing costs and implementing processes where savings can be made.
  2. To assist the Chief Financial Officer in the administration of all financial aspects of the hotel's operation.
  3. Work closely with other hotel departments to ensure the HODs understand departmental KPIs.
  4. Review margins and highlight where improvements can be made.
  5. Review of weekly revenue & payroll forecasts - review of actual vs forecast and preparation of weekly, monthly & year end forecasts.
  6. A leading involvement in the month end process.
  7. Champion weekly/daily meetings and interactions with Heads of Departments, being a true support to the hotel within all areas of accounts and finance.
  8. Income Audit management to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  9. Payroll management- weekly and monthly payroll including analysis and control.
  10. Debtors - regularly reviewing the Debtors Ledgers and PM Accounts to ensure tight controls on credit are being maintained and collection of debts are being collected on a timely basis.
  11. Creditors- Oversee maintenance of the hotel's purchasing system, reconciliation of creditor statements and dealing with supplier queries.
  12. Forecasting - Understand key trends, variances assessing current and future business risk ensuring that alternative strategies are put in place.
  13. Ensure all journals are processed and appropriately reviewed and reconciling all balance sheet control accounts including accruals and prepayments.
  14. Ensure the monthly Management Accounts are timely and show a fair reflection of trade.
  15. Assisting with the Internal & external Audit.
  16. Ensure that an effective program of Property Audit is in place and that corrective action is promptly taken.
  17. Budgeting - Assist in preparation of the numbers with the CFO & that they are logical and reflect the strategy of the property.
The Ideal Candidate Should
  1. Strategic Individual who has strong business acumen, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  2. Minimum of 3 years consecutively completed in relevant hospitality industry or sizable firm with a focus.
  3. Relevant Third Level Qualification - Accounting, Audits, Finance.
  4. Self-driven and a strategic resourcing professional.
  5. Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast pace working environment.
  6. Good team spirit, multi-tasking, co-operative with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Working knowledge of Hospitality Systems; Opera Cloud, Simphony, Procure Wizard, Alkimii.
