Quality Assurance Officer

This role ensures healthcare services meet high standards of quality and safety through quarterly reviews, care plan and risk assessment updates, and handling escalated complaints.

A Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) ensures healthcare services meet quality and safety standards by conducting quarterly reviews, updating Care Plans and Risk Assessments as necessary, and addressing escalated complaints as needed.

• Conduct regular quality assurance home visits and phone calls with customers. Manage systems for collecting and analysing customer feedback to drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Update care plans and risk assessments.
• Oversee and monitor the incident and complaint log and compile regular reports for stakeholders that highlight trends and concerns.
• Hold monthly meetings with each branch manager and coordinators to review incidents and complaints.
• Attend and organise the monthly clinical governance meeting.
• Prepare the clinical governance monthly report in a timely fashion.
• Address escalated customer complaints in a timely manner, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of the outcomes.
• Ensure branches comply with national and international quality standards and regulations, such as HIQA and HSE Tender requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of branches to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and assess potential risks to customer safety and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Analyse data related to quality metrics and outcomes and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance healthcare quality for customers and employees.

• Extensive knowledge of home care and the roles and responsibilities of a Care Assistant
• Ability to manage conflict and seek resolution
• Ability to understand and complete care plans and risk assessments to a high standard
• Ability to work off their own initiative
• Friendly and personable demeanour

• QQI level 5 or equivalent – Essential

• Work Experience: 5-7 years in a health care setting - Essential
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficiency with PC skills – Essential
• Competitive salary starting from €36,000
• Mileage paid at €0.44 per km or use of a company vehicle

• 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
• Additional hours may be required outside the standard Monday to Friday schedule, as needed.
