Overview

Full time Hotel Maintenance Supervisor – Cork City role at Travelodge Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Reflect and enhance the hotel's mission statement and objectives in all activities.
  • Attend and take the necessary action from items arising at daily/operational meetings.
  • Rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with outside contractors to ensure all maintenance issues are rectified.
  • Ensure an efficient planned preventive maintenance system is in place for all key equipment.
  • Monitor and control costs in all areas, including energy-saving measures.
  • Ensure all items from the Opera maintenance list are actioned as soon as possible.
  • Carry out regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
  • Set up maintenance contracts with Tifco preferred external maintenance companies (e.g., lifts, air-conditioning, refrigeration) and agree contract details with the Tifco procurement Manager.
  • Ensure all maintenance contracts are up to date and servicing of equipment takes place as per the contract.
  • Ensure guests safety by eliminating potential risks and hazards.
  • Ensure the fire detection system is checked and recorded weekly.
  • Ensure the fire doors, emergency lighting and bell tests are carried out weekly and recorded.
  • Ensure all fire safety systems are checked and recorded as per the requirements set out on the Tifco Fire Safety Matrix requirements.
  • Check and replace used fire extinguishers immediately.
  • Ensure all health, safety and fire regulations are adhered to.
  • Plan and implement departmental training.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, training and appraisal of maintenance team members.
  • Attend daily and weekly operation meetings and any other required meetings.
  • Ensure successful preopening and opening of the hotel.
  • Attend all Development meetings chaired by the Property Management Company overseeing the development of common areas.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience at Maintenance Assistant level required.
  • Trade qualification/experience (e.g., electrical/plumbing) strongly advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and standards-focused.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
