The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity to join a growing tax team at an incredibly exciting part of its growth journey. Due to continued growth and ambitious plans for further expansion in Ireland, RSM Ireland is recruiting a Director / Senior Manager to join our VAT team. The role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge, skills, and development in a creative, entrepreneurial, and supportive team, working with lots of fantastic clients along the way.
The role will entail working as part of a multidisciplinary team to serve a range of international and domestic clients across a diverse range of sectors. A key part of the role will be to work with existing indirect tax senior management in developing the firm's indirect tax service offering.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the provision of technically sound, clear and commercially focussed advice on indirect tax matters.
  • Managing a portfolio of indirect tax clients and overseeing a compliance portfolio.
  • Working with senior management to develop and grow the firm's indirect tax service offering.
  • Contributing to the operational management of the tax business and taking responsibility for specific areas as required.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other RSM member firms on cross-border projects and business development initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development of technical knowledge and training of staff on indirect taxes.

  • Experience in a management role in practice.
  • Comprehensive VAT technical knowledge and experience.
  • Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
  • A proven track record in business development and converting relationships into fee paying work.
  • Self-motivated and capable of leading a team.
  • Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and leaderships skills.
