Overview

Role: Senior BID Manager (Pre-Construction) – Donabate, Dublin

Salary: up to €80,000 + Company Car + 10% Yearly Bonus (based on business area targets)

Location: Donabate, Dublin

You're a driven and experienced BID Manager with strong negotiation skills and a positive attitude, looking to join our commercial team as a senior in Donabate. You'll utilise your eye for detail and experience in the construction sector to manage the cost estimation process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all estimates. This is a newly created role responsible for providing guidance and leadership to a team of 3 estimators, and for leading and developing professional excellence in the estimating function in line with company policies and client requirements.

You will implement quality controls, develop BID documentation, Project BOQ and budgets, evaluate contractor and supplier bids, and deliver category awards. The role requires involvement in multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to focus on exact requirements for specific opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop excellence in the estimating function in support of Sales and Hire within the Irish Business Unit, ensuring estimates are accurate, timely, and aligned with client requirements.
  • Manage the cost estimation process, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and leading a team of estimators.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure high-standard bid submissions.
  • Provide a full and professional estimating service to support Commercial leads in defining the scope of Modular Hire Projects; contribute to cost and margin calculations with a commercial mindset.
  • Develop Bid Documentation, Project BOQ and Budgets; evaluate contractor and supplier bids and deliver category awards.
  • Lead or contribute to value engineering exercises to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Support the procurement process by preparing cost estimates and leading contract analysis.
Essential Criteria
  • Hold a relevant degree or Design/Technical Qualification; relevant experience is more important.
  • Estimating / Bid / order negotiation experience within Construction.
  • Strong understanding of costs, mark-ups, and margins.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and leading teams.
