Responsibilities
  • Develop technical expertise in the code, features, and operations of specific products to identify opportunities for improvement in supportability, availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance. Participate in onboarding, code/design reviews, and meetings with engineering teams.
  • Develop, test, and implement changes to optimize code and enhance the observability, reliability, and operability of components and features across platforms, systems, or products at scale.
  • Use technical expertise and telemetry data analysis to suggest improvements or add-ons to product features or code, aiming to enhance availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.
  • Engage with product engineering teams through code/design reviews, meetings, on-call rotations, and incident responses. Use insights from telemetry and team interactions to propose code and design improvements.
  • Respond to incidents during on-call rotations by troubleshooting, identifying impacts, deploying fixes, and escalating issues affecting multiple components or features. Share incident details and resolutions via post-mortem reports and review meetings.
  • Utilize existing tools and models to troubleshoot issues affecting system availability, reliability, performance, or efficiency. Propose solutions to prevent recurrence and coordinate with SRE and product teams.
  • Analyze telemetry across components to identify patterns and opportunities for configuration and data changes, using code, tooling, and automation across platforms, systems, or products.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Legally authorized to work in Ireland.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration, or a relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience with distributed systems performance and behavior.
