Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer Generative AI

Location: Cork

Contract: 1 year fixed term contract

We're looking for an experienced developer with a DevOps mindset who can bring an application from inception to production ensuring maintainability, quality, security and performance. The successful candidate will be expected to understand how to build, test, deploy and monitor enterprise grade applications using best practices.

Responsibilities:

As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Generative AI team, you will be responsible for building and supporting applications that focus on leveraging emerging technologies, to create process efficiencies and drive value into the business.

We're looking for a strong, experienced developer with a DevOps mindset who can bring an application from inception to production ensuring maintainability, quality, security and performance. The candidate should also have a keen interesting in AI and emerging technologies. They will be expected to understand how to build, test, deploy and monitor enterprise grade applications using best practices.

• An accomplished communicator both verbal and written
• Understanding of agile and software development life cycle concepts
• Work as part of the development team to break down high level requirements into small, testable, releasable components
• Create effective automated tests
• Be able to work on several projects simultaneously
• Experience of working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Provide support for critical applications running in a production environment
• Mentor colleagues as needed
• Have fun – contribute towards a productive yet fun team environment

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• 7+ years' experience working in and leading development teams
• In depth knowledge of the following:Git: Branching, workflows, resolving conflictsPython & Python packaging: pip, Poetry, virtual environments, dependency managementAzure CloudCI/CD: GitHub Actions, linting, deployment pipelinesAutomated testing: Unit tests, mocking, test coverageDocker and Kubernetes: Containers vs. images, networking, env varsRest APIsAuthentication and Authorization frameworksDatabases: SQL, ORMs, Postgres, MySQL (relational and non-relational)Software development security fundamentals
  
  Experience with any or all the following is an advantage:Azure AI servicesGenerative AI and Large Language ModelsInfrastructure as code e.g. TerraformLinux adminScripting e.g. Bash
