Overview

Reporting into the Design Manager you will have the ability to be tasked and work independently to co-ordinate the design flow of information between the relevant parties and maintaining the JSS Design Management Plan during the latter stages of the design stage.

Reporting into the Design Manager you will have the ability to be tasked and work independently to co-ordinate the design flow of information between the relevant parties and maintaining the JSS Design Management Plan during the latter stages of the design stage.

You may have specific responsibility for the design and co-ordination of a singular trade package, or to co-ordinate multiple trade interfaces whilst following the established Design Management strategies for the project in terms of procedural and communication protocols.

Responsibilities

Develops relationships with site staff (particularly sub contractors) and helps resolve HSE issues

Ensure the design recognises all aspects of health & safety, environmental and quality related matters.

Ensures the correct application and secure use of appropriate technology within the design team.

Compiles relevant information in order to assess the suitability of design sub – contractors.

Promotes and communicates a proactive attitude to change whilst remaining resilient helpful and adaptable.

Makes effective use of document control to manage information

Assist DM/QS in checking Employers Requirements/Cost Proposal Compatibility.

Take minutes of Design meetings and ensure production of information in line with the design programme.

Take responsibility to coordinate a section of a project, or a Specific trade contract such as the Façade.

Communicate design opportunities and risks to SDM.

Compile, record and manage information-required documents.

Communicate changes/variations with site DM/QS.

Experience

  • Have an understanding of different Client procurement routes
  • Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage.
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
  • Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
  • Time management
  • Microsoft Office

Qualifications
  • OND / ONC Building Studies
  • Minimum two years construction industry experience
  • Cad
  • BIM Basics
