Our client is a large Irish charity with operations across Ireland. is seeking a Governance & Compliance Officer to join their team, based in South Dublin, close to the city centre. This role will suit someone with a strong interest in strengthening governance frameworks and enhancing financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, develop, and implement processes and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with both volunteers and staff to support financial governance and enhance management accounting practices.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements in line with Charities SORP standards.
  • Create finance-related content for the organisation's website and take part in annual stakeholder presentations.
  • Support day-to-day finance operations during peak periods, including external audits, and contribute to special projects as required.

Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years' experience accountant or relevant third-level qualification with experience in a financial environment.
  • Proven track record in implementing internal controls, producing management reports, and preparing financial statements to Charity SORP standards.
  • Experience in governance, compliance, or the not-for-profit sector is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups, including volunteers and staff.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Full driving licence and the right to work in Ireland.
