GRADUATE STRUCTURAL/CIVIL ENGINEER Wright Quarry Products are a leading manufacturer of concrete products in Ireland. Established over 65 years ago, our product and service offering cater for residential, commercial, civil and agricultural construction projects of all scale across Ireland and the UK. Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Structural/Civil Engineer to join our Structural Precast Division headquartered in Swanns Cross, Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan. Working in prefabrication offers graduates one of the best opportunities to discover both the design and construction aspects of engineering. The individual we are seeking should have an Engineering qualification and some work experience, ideally with the intention of achieving chartered status in the near future. The successful applicant will be working closely with customer and in-house Engineers, Architects, Contracts Managers and Quantity Surveyors to deliver a variety of projects.
Responsibilities- Routine and bespoke reinforced concrete design on a wide range of structural engineering projects from initial design through to production and install
- Structural calculation using industry specific software as well as first principles and industry standards as required
- Production of drawings, reports, calculations and structural specifications according to project requirements
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Eurocodes along with IT skills (Ability to use FEM software desirable but not required)
- Effective communication amongst clients and colleagues including architects, engineers and project managers
- Provide suitable and practical solutions to meet client expectations
- Qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
- Strong in the area of Reinforced Concrete Design and Construction Detailing would be advantageous
- Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills, with an ability to work both under guidance and using own initiative
- Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate
- Excellent verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills
- Excellent environment for graduates to develop their experience and skill in a friendly and fast-paced environment working with various internal and external construction professionals
- Continuing Professional Development Policy in place to support graduates in expanding their skillsets and on their journey to chartership
