Overview

IT Search has partnered with one of Ireland's most respected electronics companies to recruit a Senior Controls Engineer for their Shannon campus. This organisation has a long track record of innovation, manufacturing excellence, and sustained growth, with R&D at the core of their success. As they continue to expand their automation capabilities, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex design work and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art production equipment used on a global scale.

The Role
  • Design and develop advanced control systems for custom automation and test equipment.
  • Develop PLC/HMI software (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and integrate robotics, servo drives, and vision systems.
  • Lead technical reviews and provide input across design, build, debug, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The Person
  • Degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Strong experience in controls design, PLC/HMI programming, and integration of robotics/motion systems.
  • Skilled at reading and creating electrical documentation.
  • Strong technical problem solver with clear communication skills.

Salary from €70,000 plus bonus, pension, and health insurance, with full-time onsite work in Shannon. The business offers excellent career progression opportunities along with a comprehensive benefits package.
