Barry Group are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to join the team as a Fresh Food Category Specialist for the Costcutter Retail Stores in the Munster Area.

Role Purpose

This field-based role will provide expertise and hands-on training in the Fresh Food & Deli Categories throughout the Costcutter Group. As a Fresh Food Category Specialist, you will be assisting Retailers and Barry Group to achieve maximum sales and profit in their Fresh Food & Deli Department through implementing best practice and business initiatives. The Fresh Food Category Specialist will report to the Head of Costcutter Sales for Barry Group.

Candidates Must Have The Following Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant retail experience within Fresh Food & Deli Departments.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence.
  • Conducting onsite store location visits on a daily basis.
  • Preparing plans for each store and analysing reports to form business plans for the deli departments.
  • Excellent customer engagement and proven ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Trainer Skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial results in a multi-site retail environment and/or experience in supporting independent retailers.
  • Advising and working closely with managers and fresh food teams within the stores to assist them in improving sales, margins and managing their costs.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders across the business, developing new ideas and monitoring trends and competition, to ensure the stores are competitive and up to date with new changes in fresh foods.
  • Constantly innovating and looking at new ways to create exciting food offerings, improve standards and an up-to-date knowledge of new trends in Fresh Food & the Deli Sector and competitor awareness.
  • Developing and training stores on company policies and maintaining these policies and standards.
