As a recent graduate (between 2022 and 2025), you are a passionate lens based media creator. You are technically minded, have an instinct for structuring narratives, and love to capture the moments that others don't always see. You stay up to date with what's happening in the commercial, corporate and online video world, both in Ireland and internationally, and have a sharp eye for emerging trends in lighting, composition, art direction and camera operation. You are technically savvy, you have a keen understanding of social and digital media platforms and are excited to join a team of storytellers, image creators and producers.
Piquant is seeking a talented and creative Video Production Assistant to join our dynamic team. As Video Production Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our media production team in producing video and still content for digital platforms. You will support our Director of Photography by preparing for video and photography shoots, prepping gear, setting up lights on cameras on-location and in-studio. You will assist as a camera operator, and will be expected to progress in this area. You will assist with post production through editing video, voiceover recording & audio post production.
Key responsibilities- Assist in preparing gear and technical equipment for shoots.
- Assist in lighting and camera set-ups for in-studio and on-location shoots (photography and video).
- Camera operation in-studio and on-location.
- Focus pulling via wireless follow focus and wireless video transmission systems.
- Record voice and sound on-location and in-studio.
- Offload media and prepare video, images and sound for edit.
- Edit assemblies and editing for picture and sound.
- Maintain the media production equipment, ensuring all equipment is in working order and neatly organised.
- Data transfer, DIT and data management tasks.

- Degree in media production, content creation or similar.
- Recent graduate. You graduated between 2022 and 2025 (inclusive).
- Full clean driver's licence (this is essential).
- Show reel: A showreel showcasing a range of photography and video projects.
- Equipment Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard edit software such as Premiere Pro, Audition and After Effects.
- A creative and innovative mindset that aligns with Piquant's values.
- Stage 1: Applicants resumes, cover letters and showreels reviewed. The deadline for applications is 13th June.
- Stage 2: Online interview. Successful applicants will be notified of interviews by 27th June.
- Stage 3: In-person technical skills evaluation. Evaluations will take place in early July at Piquant's studio in Limerick city.
- Stage 4: Job offer. Job offer will be made in July.
- Stage 5: Start position and begin Piquant onboarding process. Position starts August / September (depending on applicants availability)
