External Job Description: Cpl in partnership with our client Pfizer is seeking a Process Development Scientist Upstream for an 11-month fixed-term contract at their state-of-the-art site in Dublin Grange Castle. This is an on-site role.

What You Will Achieve: As a Process Development Scientist, you will be central to our operations, ensuring quality in all activities. You will provide expertise in cell culture sciences for developing and optimizing protein manufacturing processes. Your role will involve helping Pfizer develop new and improved processes for drug research and development, contributing to economical, efficient, and safe processes. Your experience and proactive approach will make you a vital team member, supporting Pfizer's milestones and global patient support.

How You Will Achieve It: Pfizer's SBT portfolio involves creating effective biologics. This laboratory role focuses on characterizing and improving processes for large molecules in manufacturing and development stages.

  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance through internal training.
  • Develop and optimize cell culture processes at 5L scale.
  • Operate mammalian cell culture processes according to procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of cell culture, bioprocess engineering, and biochemistry to development projects.
  • Collaborate with analytical scientists on protein characterization.
  • Provide technical guidance on lab investigations, process design, and new technology development.
  • Support Drug Substance Technical Services during investigations, process introduction, or change implementation, including troubleshooting at lab scale.

Qualifications & Skills

  • BEng/BSc in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related with ≥4 years relevant industry experience, OR
  • MSc/MEng in the same fields with ≥3 years relevant experience, OR
  • PhD with ≥1 year relevant experience.
    • Experience in large molecule bioprocessing and separation sciences.
    • Experience designing and executing experimental programs.
    • Familiarity with problem-solving, risk analysis, and statistical tools.
