Choice Hotel group are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team in one of Galway Locations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and dessert artistry, with experience in producing high-quality pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts for a busy hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a wide variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts to the highest standards.
- Develop and innovate dessert recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current trends.
- Manage the pastry section's daily operations, including inventory control and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service and menu consistency.
- Train and supervise junior pastry staff as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Relevant culinary qualifications with at least 2 years' experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen, preferably in fine dining or hotel settings.
- Strong technical skills in pastry preparation, decoration, and finishing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
