Overview

Senior Full Stack Engineer (CoreX Web Foundation) — Remote - Ireland. Yelp is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to focus on the modernization, performance, observability and reliability of Yelp's homepage, search page, and biz details pages. CoreX Web Foundation works to improve performance and developer experience; you will work across services, packages, and tools to turn ambitious ideas into reality. This opportunity requires you to be located in the Republic of Ireland.

What You'll Do
  • Contribute to a clear technical vision for improvements in performance, observability and reliability on Yelp's core pages.
  • Lead large migrations and tackle technical debt.
  • Deploy changes in a services-oriented architecture.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and teams across the company to design and implement reliable, scalable systems.
  • Dive into experimentation data to identify issues and address customer needs, iterating on code as necessary.
  • Mentor fellow engineers and share knowledge to grow the org's full-stack expertise and domain knowledge.
What It Takes To Succeed
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders to execute high-impact technical projects.
  • Relevant experience in at least one server-side programming language, preferably Python.
  • Relevant experience with JavaScript / TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with popular server-side web frameworks (Django, Flask, etc.) or modern JS frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.).
  • Keen interest in tackling scalability, reliability, and performance challenges.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix environment.
