The Technical Manager plays an integral role in ensuring that the technical classification, waste acceptance and incoming process are fit for purpose. This role requires occasional travel across sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to Operational and Sales teams regarding waste classifications, treatment methodologies, and process optimization.
  • Support the Customer Solutions team on daily tasks including classifications, packing methodologies, route optimisation, etc., whilst ensuring the process lines meet daily targets and process efficiency is maximised.
  • Partner with the Business Unit manager in developing, monitoring and maintaining all policies and procedures related to customer support and customer development activities.
  • Responsible for the WTS / Tegos classifications, EWC code assignments and the SOPs associated with these procedures.
  • Work with EHS to build a database that ensures accurate, efficient and convenient year-end reporting for R/D codes for streams.
  • Assist in TFS applications.
  • Assist Site Operations where required, to prepare outbound movement paperwork.
  • Take a leading role in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) design and implementation.
  • Support the team capability in waste classification and compliant waste packing and labelling.
  • Partner with the Business Unit Manager to proactively support the delivery of team objectives, manage priorities and ensure that individual, team, and company objectives are achieved by creating a high performing and adaptable team.
  • Ensure the team is trained on all policies, processes and procedures in technical classification, and waste acceptance and incoming processes to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure operations are conducted safely and compliantly by implementing and improving safety protocols in partnership with the Business.
  • Support continuity of process to meet forecast intake and maximise recovered fractions.
  • Provide senior management with clear and concise daily output through financials and agreed KPI targets.
  • Assist in managing and achieving the targeted budget for the business unit while reporting and implementing continuous process improvements; develop Business Operations Procedures and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • In conjunction with Enva management, manage relationships with the Enva client base and all treatment/recovery/disposal facilities and sub-contractors to deliver smooth operations and logistical movements.
  • Collaborate with other divisions and Enva facilities to develop an integrated business offering delivering improvements in operations, efficiency, resourcing, and cost management.

  • Demonstrate effective communication, networking and relationship-building with all stakeholders including customers, suppliers, your team and senior management.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and expectations, leveraging this to generate new business, improve policies, processes and overall service.
  • Strong product knowledge, data analytics and project management skills.
