What you need to know:

We are seeking a Recoveries Technician to handle our Recoveries portfolio of personal & commercial claims to efficiently and cost effectively handle; negotiate and accurately recover claims costs. The role will ensure mitigation of exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders whilst providing a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for recovery/subrogation/salvage across multiple lines of business.
• Review assigned claim files to determine if recovery is feasible by investigating and evaluating liability issues according to Best Practice/Procedural guidelines
• Coordinate investigations with expert witnesses to review the adequacy of the investigation
• Correspond with appropriate parties (experts, attorney's, claims professionals) in accordance with established procedures regarding claim information, notice/demand of payment and related issues
• Preparation and case summary for legal representatives, to expedite their review, agreeing next steps of recovery and tactics throughout litigation
• Develop great working relationship with all stakeholders
• Prepare activity reports for files above authority
• Accurately identify and record all financial impact for cases managed within recovery system

• Multiple years of experience in recoveries or claims handling
• Proactive team player with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work with stakeholders to effectively direct recovery strategy
• Strong analytical problem solving and communications skills both verbal and written
• Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements
• Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines when necessary
• Experience with various database systems an advantage
