UNSW Rural brings world-class medical education to rural and regional Australia, delivering the full 6-year medical course at our rural campuses across several locations. Face-to-face teaching is critical to rural program delivery as students build strong relationships with clinicians and other academics and become part of the local medical community. The program supports RHMT aims and delivers excellence in rural medical education and student experience.

This Job is based in Australia.

Location: Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Role Details

• Employment Type: Part-time (7 hours a week)
• Duration: Fixed Term contract until 30 June 2026
• Remuneration: $127,947 base pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation, leave loading and clinical loading (as appropriate)
• Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia.

UNSW Rural (Wagga Wagga campus) is committed to delivering high-quality rural medical education and student experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching with a demonstrated interest in local rural medical education.
• Focus on the applications of basic sciences for clinical competency and/or patient-centred interdisciplinary healthcare in clinical practice.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and small group teaching for the undergraduate program phase.
• Contribute to education-focused initiatives within the university's teaching and learning communities.
• Collaborate with the Director of Medical Education and other educators as required.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent (BMedMD, MBBS) and Fellowship of a Specialist Medical College and eligible for medical registration in New South Wales, or a relevant health discipline with ongoing registration with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated record of achievement in practical face-to-face teaching and supervision at undergraduate level with a commitment to rural medical and health education.
• Well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning and immersion.
• Experience in preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials and small group teaching.
• Participation in recruitment activities for rural students (e.g., Rural Entry Admissions Pathway) and associated interview processes.
