Overview

Senior HR Business Partner – Retail role at An Post. Reporting to the Director HR Business Partnering: Retail and Corporate, the Senior HR Business Partner – Retail will be a trusted, strategic advisor to the business, who understands the business strategy and translates business needs into talent priorities. Work with Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and HR Operations teams on talent management and organisation development activities to deliver an outstanding employee experience.

Please note: This is a specific purpose contract for a minimum of 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities
  • Establish trusted, credible relationships with the Retail business to support them to achieve their business objectives.
  • Lead, manage and develop the HR Retail team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Partner with the business on Strategic Workforce Planning to support resourcing for the Retail business.
  • Champion people data-led decision making across the Retail business area by harnessing people analytics, operational metrics, and employee insights to advise HR interventions.
  • Maintain full ownership and accountability for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of people data, ensuring it reflects the realities of a unionised, customer-facing workforce.
  • In conjunction with the support of the CoEs and HR Operations, ensure the effective and timely provision of operational and specialist HR service on a day-to-day basis to the Retail business.
  • Provide expert advice and represent Retail and designated subsidiary companies at appropriate third-party hearings together with the Employee Relations team.
  • Support recruitment in the Retail business by partnering with hiring managers as appropriate to align job specification, sizing and reward for roles as well as joining interview panels.
  • Act as a point of contact to the An Post Group of Unions, developing and maintaining positive relationship with representatives.
  • Provide expert advice to Line Management/HR Business Partners about the interpretation and implementation of agreements, HR policies and employee legislation to ensure consistency of application across the Retail business.
  • Work with management and the Trade Unions to maintain compliance with Industrial Relations change agreements, that objectives set out are achieved and that the Retail business achieves the business benefits.
  • Manage and support Grievance and Discipline matters in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Oversee policy and process implementation in the business.
  • Participate and support in other HR-related activities (JCC sub-committees, HR programmes) as required from time to time.
  • Collaborate with CoEs on An Post's talent management and organisation development strategies including Diversity and Inclusion, Learning and Development, Culture and Change.
  • Support and champion the HR Transformation journey, both through the implementation of the Oracle HR Management System and the HR change agenda.
  • Demonstrate An Post values and behaviours in your day-to-day work and address behaviour that supports/ disagrees with them.
