Technical Manager Role and Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the technical delivery team to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims for submission, taking responsibility and accountability for compliance and delivery performance.
- Lead meetings with the engineering and financial client stakeholders; examine client operations and processes to capture, qualify and draft qualifying activities and costs relevant to R&D incentives.
- Responsibility for the project management to ensure service delivery in line with client expectations.
- Coaching and developing junior staff, and leading by example in terms of client relationships, technical quality, and service delivery.
- Lead in progressing business development opportunities with both new and existing clients.
- Lead discussions/audits that may arise with the Revenue Commissioners.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Honours/ Post Graduate Degree in STEM-related discipline.
- Detailed working knowledge of the R&D tax legislation, and its application to STEM activities.
- Industry experience in STEM and ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts.
- Understand key tax/costing concepts relevant to R&D claim preparation, as well as the capability to work within cross-disciplinary teams.
- Proven project and staff management skills, demonstrating the ability to manage own workload well, as well as delegating to staff members.
- Excellent communication skills being able to lead technical discussions and explain complex legislative concepts to stakeholders who have no prior experience of the tax definition of R&D.
- Must be capable of producing high-quality, professional documentation and reports for C-suite stakeholders within our clients.
