The successful applicant will run their own busy caseload (subject to supervision) as well as assisting the Partner and greater team on more complex matters;

  • Representing hospitals in the defence of medical malpractice actions.
  • Advising hospitals and clinicians on a wide range of medico legal issues including patient capacity and consent and adverse incident reviews.
  • Acting on behalf of hospitals and clinicians in connection with inquests.

Candidates will need to have an eye for opportunity and have the desire to become involved with business development activities.

This firm is a market leader in the area of professional indemnity and clinical negligence and you will be joining a team that has significant exposure to healthcare disputes, clinical negligence, coroners inquests and medical indemnity within the private healthcare and alternative medicine markets.

The successful candidate must have proven recent experience defending claims brought against healthcare professionals. You will ideally come from a leading regional or national defendant practice and have a minimum of 12 Months PQE or equivalent experience. You will have excellent client relationship skills and will seek to develop relationships over the course of your career whilst handling a technically challenging caseload.
