We are looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team.You will bring your experience and work on EIAR projects in the wind energy, renewables, waste-to-energy, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. Are you ready to make a tangible impact and shape your career in environmental consulting? We're looking for someone eager to take ownership and see their project through from start to finish.

MKO has offices in Galway and Dublin.

You will be responsible for:

Leading and delivering diverse environmental projects, taking them from initial concept to successful completion, including managing project profitability and providing regular updates to the Environmental Director and client.
Guide a talented team of junior team members and sub-consultants, fostering their growth while ensuring project requirements are delivered.
Strategically prioritise your workload, balancing client needs, team resources, and project deadlines to keep things running smoothly.
Drive growth by implementing new business development initiatives for the Environmental team.
Champion new business opportunities, using your expertise to identify market needs, prepare fee proposals, and secure exciting new work.
Manage project finances, from fee agreements to invoicing, ensuring profitability.

What you'll bring:

To thrive in this role and make a real impact,we are looking for someone with:

A third-level qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related fields that gives you the necessary skills for this role.
A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in a similar role.
An excellent understanding of the Irish planning system.
A broad range of experience with large-scale projects across the EIAR (Environmental Impact Assessment Report), planning, and construction phases.
Comprehensive knowledge across various EIAR subject areas, including civil engineering, construction management, ecology, hydrology/hydrogeology, noise, air, traffic, and geotechnical aspects, understanding how these disciplines interconnect.
