Overview

Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD), a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC, is seeking an AVP - Application Support Analyst to join the EMEA Application Management team, focusing on Lease Finance. This role supports the Lending business by ensuring the seamless operation of critical business applications. You will be part of a close-knit, collaborative team and engage directly with product owners and business users.

The role offers exposure to industry-leading platforms such as Alfa v6, LEAF, and bespoke data warehouse solutions, with opportunities for career growth within financial services technology. Flexible working opportunities and ongoing training are available.

What you'll do

As an Application Support Analyst, you will:

  • Maintain the reliability of key business applications used by the Lending division through comprehensive system checks and readiness verification for business teams.
  • Respond to incidents reported via ServiceNow with prompt resolution and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across locations to foster a team-based approach to problem-solving.
  • Participate in change management processes, liaise with vendors for software updates or escalations, and contribute to testing of new enhancements.
  • Keep meticulous records of all activities and follow ITIL-aligned procedures; use tools like Jira for sprint planning to drive operational excellence and ongoing improvements across the Lease Finance technology landscape.
What you bring

Your background may include formal education in IT, Business Information Systems or Finance; however, the key is your ability to apply analytical thinking to complex technical issues. You should be comfortable navigating both vendor-supplied platforms (e.g., Alfa v6/LEAF) and internally developed solutions powered by SQL. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks is preferred. You should be able to liaise professionally with third-party vendors during release cycles and document actions taken throughout the day. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering dependable support are essential to ensuring business users can rely on technology daily.
