Business Accountabilities
The successful candidate will hold a broad range of responsibilities in Financial Control, including the following:
- Responsible for leading, overseeing and developing the income and balance sheet team, including providing guidance to the team on a day-to-day basis.
- Responsible for delivery of the monthly management accounts, with oversight of the production and output from the income and balance sheet team, including sign off/attestation regarding same.
- Development and enhancement of control reconciliations for income, management accounts and balance sheet reporting.
- Responsible for the provision of detailed MI and narrative commentary on revenue and related KPIs.
- Responsible for quarterly revenue forecasting, working with the Finance business partners and business leads to develop insights and forecasts.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency through standalone project initiatives and through BAU.
- Balance sheet detailed oversight, reporting and monthly reconciliation.
- Ensuring a robust risk and control environment is in place through the documentation of detailed processes and procedures.
- Working with team and auditors on audit co-ordination and financial statement production.
- Working with the team on ad hoc projects during the year.
Qualifications And Experience
- Qualified Accountant.
- Minimum of five years post qualified experience, with strong hands-on financial accounting and reporting experience in relation to income and Balance sheet.
- Financial services / investment firm experience would be advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel is essential. Due to the high level of spreadsheet-based work in the role an excellent knowledge of Excel would be an advantage: Pivot tables, lookups and knowledge of formulae etc.
- Managerial experience or experience managing a team to deliver key objectives.
