What you'll do
  • Assist management during the night and be responsible for the smooth running of the hotel.
  • Always maintain a positive and friendly attitude, even when working to achieve solutions to challenges.
  • Answer phones, sort out requests and anything that might arise, involving the team as needed.
  • Ensure the integrity of the public areas and back of house areas are maintained at all times, with deficiencies corrected immediately.
  • Carry out the night audit procedures accurately, reporting any discrepancies and ensuring quick resolution.
  • Ensure the safety of guests overnight whilst they are staying with us.
  • Maintain a high-quality guest experience at night by treating guests as individuals, making their stay special — the Hox way.
  • Deal with the coming and going of guests, ensuring all bills are correct and contain no surprises.
  • Assist the Night Manager with end of day procedures.
Qualifications

  • Practical, hands-on approach; able to get things done without ego.

  • A sense of humor and the ability to stay composed in a small night team.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to support colleagues and have fun along the way.
  • Experience in a similar role with a demonstrable track record of excelling in front office operations and procedures.
  • If familiar with Opera or a similar front desk operating system and GDS, that would be a big advantage.
  • Natural leadership and the ability to mentor others and create an environment where the team can be their best.
  • Positive attitude, helpfulness and confidence to work independently in a smaller night team.
