Responsibilities- Understand and align to the Contracting Entity's Contract Management standards, ensuring compliance with the chosen contract terms (e.g., NEC) and programme.
- Ensure full compliance with contract management standards and terms; manage reporting of non-compliance.
- Manage commercial relationships with Contractors and/or Consultants to drive continuous improvement in delivery of works and services.
- Review draft contracts to ensure fit for purpose; coordinate inputs from advisors (legal, technical, financial).
- Lead contractual negotiations and provide guidance to Project Manager/Services Manager and Programme Director as needed.
- Review and acceptance of subcontractors and subcontract documents in line with the contract.
- Certify payments, including assessment of Defined Costs for option C and E contracts.
- Audit contractor/consultant accounts to ensure costs are captured accurately.
- Review contractor/consultant forecasts and assess painshare or gainshare for option C or D contracts.
- Undertake delay damages calculations if required.
- Establish and review contract management strategies and approve individual strategies.
- Set targets for KPIs in Incentive Schedules within NEC contracts and monitor contractor performance.
- Create and maintain a KPI library for relevant categories/programmes.
- Provide leadership to a team of Contract Administrators; foster collaboration with the project team.
- Review compensation event applications, quotations, assessments, and early warnings; advise the Project Manager/Service Manager.
- Review applications for payment for alignment with contract terms.
- Provide assurance of RFI/RFT tender documentation, contract conditions, and amendments (including Z clauses); oversee tendering and evaluation processes for contractor/consultant appointments.
- Oversee and contribute to ongoing contract administration and performance management activities.
- 10+ years experience in contract management and administration.
- Knowledge of monitoring Contractor/Consultant performance.
- Significant experience in claims management and performance management frameworks.
- Knowledge of KPIs for contractor/consultant organizations; experience building a KPI library.
- Experience administering NEC contracts; ability to develop and implement contract management strategies.
- Proven leadership in managing multiple, complex contracts with clear direction to stakeholders; NEC contract management expertise, especially in aviation.
- Able to lead a team of 1-3 people; strong analytical, negotiation, and report-writing skills; good presentation skills and computer literacy.
- Understanding of CEMAR and Unifier.
- Bachelor Degree in Law / Quantity Surveying / Project Management
