Job Description

We invite you to bring your expertise in design/project management and site inspection into play as you provide Design Site Representation on a range of transport schemes including civils/highways, rail infrastructure, urban mobility, and aviation.

Ramboll offers hybrid working, allowing you to split your time between home and the office. The role will primarily be based on-site in Ireland/Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will have experience with key infrastructure clients such as National Highways, Network Rail, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, or the National Transport Authority of Ireland. Are you our new Designers Site Representative? Click the apply button to send your application.

Join us to push professional boundaries, develop your skills in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture. We aim to create a sustainable future through inspiring projects and innovative solutions, setting industry standards. Ramboll, established in 1945, is a global company committed to positive societal impacts worldwide.

You will join our Project Management department

As a Designers Site Representative, you will manage daily design coordination activities on-site in support of the Project Manager, aligning with Ramboll's Project Excellence Lifecycle. Ramboll supports flexible working, and you will be part of a team of experts working towards shared goals.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary liaison between the contractor's team on-site and the Ramboll design office, ensuring design obligations are met during construction
  • Performing duties of the Designers Site Representative, including witnessing construction, inspecting works, managing Non-Conformities, and handling Technical Queries and Material Approvals
  • Managing the site team of engineers, specialists, and inspectors on larger projects
  • Managing the RFI process
  • Ensuring project deliverables are met within deadlines
  • Liaising with stakeholders to align project objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines
  • Reporting progress to the Project Manager and senior management
  • Resolving issues promptly to prevent delays

Growth and Development

We support your personal and professional growth from day one. For this role, we believe your starting point includes:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Building/Civil Engineering or related field
  • Preferably a chartered member of an appropriate construction organization (e.g., ICE/IEI)
  • Experience in a DSR role on civil infrastructure projects, ideally within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy
  • Proven success managing large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of National Infrastructure Programmes, including National Highway's Project Control Framework and Regional Investment Programmes
  • Understanding of construction and design processes
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations
  • Familiarity with procurement methods and contract administration like NEC3 and NEC4

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, well-organized, and excellent communicators who can prioritize effectively and collaborate across teams.
