Automation Engineer

The Role Design, develop, and test software and hardware solutions for automation systems, including Controllers, PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and modern. Have a familiarity with modern concepts like AI, ML, Digital Twin and Simulation for the automation space. Plan and integrate communication networks within automation solutions, ensuring seamless interaction between systems at different layers. Integrate data across various layers of systems, including ERP and Cloud platforms. Conduct system integration and design for control and total solution packages, including HMI design and programming with related graphics. Provide engineering support to customers and clients for new system designs, including technical support, training, and the creation and delivery of documentation. Collaborate effectively with mechanical and electrical design engineers to develop technical solutions. Produce technical, quality, and support documentation, including document control and build document packages. Support and advise clients on technical solutions and methods to achieve their project objectives. What You'll Do Innovate for the Future: Understand the evolving needs of facilities to position BONNER as a leader in automation innovation. Design & Program: Craft sophisticated control systems tailored to industry-specific challenges, using your expertise in automation. Create & Customise: Develop Functional Specification Designs (FSD) for equipment and control modules, write custom programming code, and design intuitive HMI graphics based on User Requirement Specifications (URS). Bring Solutions to Life: Be hands-on during site commissioning, ensuring seamless integration and performance of automation systems. Collaborate & Thrive: Driven by working in a fast-paced project environment where your contributions directly impact success. What Youll Bring Expertise in Control Systems: Proven proficiency in designing and programming control systems for industrial applications. Batch Process Knowledge: Familiarity with S88 batch process control is a bonus. Process Instrumentation Skills: A working knowledge of process instrumentation will be an advantage. Person Strong Automation or Control Experience is required Organised Flexible / adaptable Disciplined Self-Motivated Own transport and Full driving licence is required for project work on sites. Education & Experience 5 years+ of experience with major engineering platforms, including SCADA and DCS systems.
