Ireland Paediatriccommunitynursing Full time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Complex Care Nurse to join our team. This position requires providing exceptional care for a 6-year-old child with complex medical needs. While prior experience in paediatric complex care and specific skills are preferred, they are optional, as comprehensive training will be provided to qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:
  • Medication Management: Administering medications according to prescribed schedules and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Tracheostomy Care: Managing and maintaining tracheostomy tube, performing suctioning, and monitoring respiratory status.
  • Nebulizer Management: Administering nebulizer treatments as prescribed, monitoring the effectiveness of treatments, and adjusting care as necessary.
  • Pain Management: Assessing and managing pain levels, implementing appropriate pain relief measures, and providing comfort to the child.
  • Care of Child with Disability: Assisting with activities of daily living, ensuring comfort, mobility, and overall well-being.
  • Management of Complex Airway: Monitoring and managing a complex airway, including tracheostomy care, to ensure proper breathing.
  • Feeding Orally: Assisting with oral feeding, monitoring nutritional intake, and ensuring safe and effective feeding practices.
Requirements:
  • Valid NMBI registration.
  • Strong knowledge of paediatric medication administration and safe practices (experience preferred but optional as training provided).
  • Competency in tracheostomy care and suctioning techniques (experience preferred but optional as training provided).
  • Experience with nebulizer treatments and related equipment (experience preferred but optional as training provided).
  • Ability to assess and manage pain effectively (experience preferred but optional as training provided).
  • Understanding and experience in caring for children with disabilities (experience preferred but not essential as training provided).
  • Competency in managing a complex airway, including tracheostomy care (experience preferred but optional as training provided)
  • Experience with oral feeding techniques and safety protocols (experience preferred but optional as training provided).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Schedule:
  • Night Shift: 10-hour shifts, between Monday to Sunday.
  • This position offers a full-time 40-hour contract.
  • 22euros – 28euros depending on experience, premium rates for nights and weekends
