About the Role As the Electrical Engineering Design Lead, you will play a key role in delivering major Power, Renewable, and Substation projects. Reporting to the P&R Engineering Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all electrical design requirements and outputs, ensuring they meet the highest technical, quality, and safety standards. You will be a strategic leader, providing guidance and mentorship to the engineering team and collaborating closely with senior management and stakeholders to achieve project success. Key Responsibilities In this senior leadership position, you will: Drive Project Delivery: Manage the engineering scope for major projects, overseeing all electrical design outputs and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. Technical Authority: Serve as the technical expert for substation and grid connection requirements, providing strategic input and guidance to the business. Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and develop a team of talented engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the business at meetings and industry events. Detailed Design Oversight: Develop, optimise, and review detailed designs for complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Champion of Safety & Compliance: Promote a positive safety culture and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all stages of project delivery. What We're Looking For We are looking for a dynamic individual with: Proven experience in leading electrical design projects within the Power, Renewables, or Substation sectors. Strong technical expertise in substation layouts, grid connections, control & protection schemes, and equipment specifications. Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of navigating complex project environments and building trust.
