Senior Equipment Design Engineer

Our client, a global leader of medical device manufacturing solutions is hiring a Senior Equipment Design Engineer.
As a Senior Equipment Design Engineer, the successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager or selected Engineering Leader.
Work will be concentrated on the design of innovative solutions for our multinational client base, on time, in budget while managing the complex project scope.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead all aspects of machine design from initial concept to final release.
- Deliver robust designs through anticipating and preventing build, debug, performance and reliability issues.
- Ensure design if compliant to all regulatory, safety and CE requirements
- Use 3D & 2D CAD software to produce solid models, detail drawings and BOM of equipment in line with client specifications.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Produce related documentation (technical data sheets, detailed drawings, operating manuals, test procedures etc).
- Prepare detailed tooling drawings and pneumatic schematics.
- Responsibility for quality, commissioning and safety of designs completed.
- Ensures project documentation is kept up to date and accurate.
- Proactively seeks more efficient/lower cost methods of meeting quality and schedule requirements.
- Liaise with customers for requirement specifications and project deliverables.
- Manage communications with various internal and external stakeholders for project delivery and status reporting
- Monitor project risks and implement appropriate preventative actions
- Provide mentoring and technical direction to less experienced members of the engineering team
- Support technical sales with machine concept generation and costing
- Lead continuous improvement activities within the engineering group
- Primary Degree BSc / BEng plus 6yrs+ in an equipment design role
- Be Innovative and creative in finding solutions to design challenges
- Possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and concepts
- Have a proficiency in designing mechanical systems and components using CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong ability to combine technical expertise with a creative flair for innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise designs
- Advanced knowledge of equipment design and safety standards
- Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Proactive and solutions focused with good organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and in team settings.
- Excellent technical skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project.
- The individual should enjoy working in a dynamic & results oriented team environment where flexibility is essential.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Be open minded with the ability to recognize good ideas.
