Applications are invited for a temporary post of an Intern in Small Animal Surgery within School of Veterinary Medicine. The Small Animal Surgery Service of University College Dublin Veterinary Hospital (UCDVH) handles primarily animals referred for specialist surgical care. The intern in Small Animal Surgery is an integral member of the patient care team, assisting with consultations, diagnostic investigations, surgical and post-operative management under the direct supervision of residents and senior clinicians in the specialty. Due to the nature of our patient population, the intern only rarely has the opportunity to act as the primary surgeon in the operative management of patients in the UCDVH. However, the inter commonly participate as an assistant surgeon in a large number of complex orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures. 95 House Surgeon_2010 (5212_X) Salary: €32,576 per annum.
