The Royal Hospital Donnybrook RECRUITMENT SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST SENIOR Senior Speech and Language Therapist (1.0 WTE) The Royal Hospital Donnybrook provides a range of rehabilitation services to adults in the areas of stroke, neuro, general inpatient rehabilitation, and day hospital. We also provide respite and residential care. The hospital is a voluntary, charitable organisation. Purpose of the Post: The Senior Speech & Language Therapist will be instrumental in delivering a quality service to patients and residents within RHD. In addition to clinical responsibilities, he/she will be expected to contribute to continuous quality improvement and quality assurance around patient care. Reporting Relationship: The Senior Speech and Language Therapist reports to the Speech & Language Therapist Manager in relation to all operational and clinical issues in the Speech and Language Therapy Department. Direct professional supervision is in place through the SLT Manager Essential Criteria: A professional Speech and Language Therapy qualification recognised by the Department of Health. Qualifications from abroad recognised by IASLT and validated. CORU registration. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Dysphagia Training. Experience in assessment, diagnosis and management of disorders of FEDS and communication in older persons. Interest in areas of rehabilitation and residential care. A minimum of 3 years experience working as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist. Experience in service development and quality improvement.
