The Company Our client is an ambitious, fun loving, Irish owned multidisciplinary company that provide Environmental Consultancy and Forensic Engineering services. Our client is an Engineers Ireland CPD accredited employer with a vision to provide Excellence with a sense of humour. Their hybrid working model and office in Trim, Co Meath provides an excellent opportunity to avoid long commutes and traffic into Dublin. The Role The Environmental Director will have shareholding or profit-sharing options and work side by side with their Managing Director as part of our clients leadership team and advisory Board. This role involves leadership, motivation, strategy, team building, managing, mentoring and business development. An Environmental Director will have significant experience in motivating and managing teams and project delivery in one or more of our key sectors: Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) & Environmental Planning Environmental Due Diligence & Land Contamination EPA Licensing & Compliance ESG & Sustainability Drone Surveying The ideal candidate will have excellent commercial awareness with a proven track record of developing and upskilling internal teams to achieve high performance. The role includes: Member of Leadership Team and Advisory Board Developing the growth strategy for the environmental team. Motivating, developing, managing, guiding and mentoring an enthusiastic team. Recruit and Retention of the environmental team. Improving the environmental performance for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors. Agree and manage monthly team budget, targets & performance. Business Development & Tendering. Manage team schedules, project delivery, and exceed our client expectations. Direct, lead and deliver designated environmental projects Our client works with exceptional clients including leading Irish and international Renewable Energy, Food and Drink, Pharmaceutical, Insurance, Retail and Construction companies. You will have the autonomy to complete excellent work your way, in accordance with the company vision to Provide Excellence with a Sense of Humour. Expected Competencies The required candidate must have the following knowledge and attributes: A third level qualification (Degree/Masters) in environmental science or related discipline. Respected within the Irish Environmental Industry such that clients will be impressed and reassured by their presence. Personable - build a strong rapport with clients, peers & authorities on-site & on-phone. Experience working in the Irish environmental consultancy sector (8+ years preferred). Ability to lead, inspire, build, support & challenge a high performing environmental team with respect rather than fear/anger. Commercial nous to see and deliver opportunities in the market and identify potential clients, team members & acquisition targets. Ability to project manage multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to deliver a project to a satisfied client that believes we exceed their expectations. Significant network within the Irish Environmental Industry Excellent report writing and presentation skills. Highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail. A full clean driving licence.
