Job role: Intermediate Health & Safety advisor Galway The company who is a leading Construction & Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to take on an Intermediate level H&S Advisor This is a fantastic opportunity for a H&S advisor to take the next step in their career. You will be working directly under experienced H&S professionals therefore there is endless opportunity to learn and progress your knowledge. They see H&S as one of their main priorities in the workplace and want to add somebody to the team to implement a top-down approach and help keep a safe workplace environment. Day-to-day responsibilities: Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employers industry Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation Skills and qualifications: Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred) 2+ years in similar role Previous construction experience IT Skills This is an excellent opportunity for somebody that wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
