Job Title: Production Supervisor - Evening Shift Location: Naas, Co. Kildare Reports to: Production Manager Job Purpose: This role is responsible for planning, leading, directing, and monitoring all production and maintenance activities. The aim is to optimise resources to deliver finished goods that meet customer demand, production schedules, and quality specifications. Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Production Supervisor include, but are not limited to: Lead and motivate the production team to meet output, efficiency, waste, and yield targets while minimising overtime requirements. Attend daily production meetings and address operational issues proactively. Manage team attendance, timekeeping, annual leave, and performance. Delegate tasks effectively to ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved. Promote clear and consistent communication within the production team and with other departments. Conduct employee appraisals, probationary reviews, and manage disciplinary matters in conjunction with management and HR. Escalate operational issues to the Plant Manager when necessary. Review production metrics (e.g., downtime, waste, non-conformances) to ensure standards are met. Ensure first-off and final quality checks are completed and documented. Maintain control of tools, probes, and machine parts, following procedures to prevent contamination or foreign matter incidents. Champion energy conservation and waste management initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment in line with health & safety and quality standards. Ensure all equipment is used according to training, and staff are properly trained and signed off. Uphold compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality systems, including control of critical control points (CCPs). Contribute to process improvement by proposing new initiatives and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure SOPs are current, reflect best practices, and that all staff are trained accordingly. Guarantee all products are produced and packed to required specifications, with a focus on first-time-right quality. Minimise product waste and reduce business risk through careful handling of ingredients and finished goods. Liaise with maintenance teams regarding any required equipment repairs or issues. Coordinate with other supervisors to ensure a continuous flow of materials to the production line. Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word). Solid understanding of production processes, procedures, and quality systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience managing or supervising teams in a manufacturing or food production environment is desirable. Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to deliver results. Fluent in both written and verbal English. Self-motivated, decisive, and highly organised. Flexible and adaptable with a strong work ethic.
