The ASI is currently recruiting a Communications Officer Lead to be based in National Office, Temple Road, Blackrock, Co Dublin / hybrid who will report to the Communications & Relationship Manager. The Communications Officer Lead is a key member of the Advocacy, Research & Public Affairs team and will oversee communications workflows, will offer support and advise to the communications officers on the team and will identify opportunities and potential issues. The Communications Officer Lead will also develop a communications calendar and monitor communications support needs and to identify trends and opportunities for future growth. The successful candidate should have a minimum of three to four years' experience working in a media- related field such as online and digital communications, journalism or public relations. Experience in working with a national organisation on media events and campaigns would be desirable. The person should have outstanding written, communication, and editing skills in addition to excellent time- management and organisational skills with an ability to work across departments. Salary will commensurate with the care sector. This is a full-time (35 hours per week) permanent position. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and manage an ASI communications calendar and oversee communications workflows Coordinating staff resources to ensure adequate comms support at event and launches Offer support and advice to the communications officers on the team Develop strong relationships and work closely with all internal stakeholders to ensure the whole organisation is effective in communicating Develop relationships with key external stakeholders, including members of the media Work across departments and help other teams across The ASI to achieve their goals Implement and actions communications strategies and campaigns across the organisation Proactive approach to internal communications and telling the story of the organisation Ensuring the organisation is telling the wider story of dementia, both internally and externally, including gathering case studies from advocates, service users and family carers Monitors social media, online platforms, and traditional media to identify trends and opportunities Ensures all promotional materials comply with the ASI standards and strategies Prepares media reports and forecasts by analysing media data The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work required from this position. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Knowledge/Experience: Three to four years' experience working in a media-related field such as online and digital communications, journalism or public relations. Experience in working with a national organisation on media events and campaigns would be desirable. The ability to multitask and experience of working across departments and across teams would be desirable. Skills/Competencies: Relationship building, proactive and flexible work approach Very strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
