An Post operates a fleet of over 4000 vehicles in over 100 Delivery Units nationwide. Reporting to the Head of Logistics and the National Fleet Manager, this role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of cost analysis and audit compliance within our organisation and the management and administration of projects for An Posts fleet department and suppliers. You will collaborate closely with the fleet department and suppliers to continually find the most cost effective and efficient solutions to meet the evolving operational needs of our business. You will bea key player in working towards An Posts viable and sustainable future. This role is hybrid and is based in Dublin Mails Centre. There will also be regular travel to sites nationally required. Responsibilities The primary accountabilities associated with this role include but are not limited to the following: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations. Ensure financial best practise, compliance and adhere to all company policies. Ensure that all available data and insights are used to improve the effective and efficient running of our Final Mile and Middle Mile fleet. Understand the vehicle leasing and maintenance requirements (Near-Term, Medium Term and Long Term) and of all fleet operating costs to include HGVs, LCVs and EV vehicle types. Build a system to monitor all fleet costs weekly/monthly and forecasting for presentation to the senior management team, assessing and reporting the level of preparedness as required. Identify areas for improvement of processes and supplier performance, developing strategies to improve and support the fleet management team. Renegotiate with the lessor certain aspects of the work-scope and the conditions as the need arises to operate successfully. Protect An Post from the risk of a lessee top-up or cost creep and follow the progress of each vendor along agreed guidelines, identify and handle variances. Get involved as needed in the selection software solutions and a document storage / inventorying solution to support the fleet management requirements. Foster productive working partnerships and relationships both internally and externally with key stakeholders and suppliers. Lead performance and timelines for fleet projects and work with agreed budgets and standards ensuring costs are actively assessed and managed. Advocating and demonstrating An Posts values and behaviours in your day to day work and addressing behaviour that supports/conflicts with them. Qualifications This role will require expertise in fleet related contracts, process supervision and financial modelling. This role will be vital to ensure effective communication between all departments in fleet, finance, procurement and suppliers. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience working in a similar environment. You should be familiar with operating fleet contracts, and ensuring contract compliance is always monitored and adhered to. You will have solid understanding and experience utilising data driven insights to optimise efficiencies and performance. You are self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and as part of a team with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Knowledge of developments in finance as well as strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking ability is important for this role.
