We are currently recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Community Later Life Psychiatry team based in Portlaoise. About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist with CORU registration and proven experience working with older adults in psychiatric care. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of older adults and thrive in an interdisciplinary environment, wed love to hear from you Primary Duties: To deliver an Occupational Therapy service of the highest possible clinical standard. To be directly responsible for the Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment of patients on your caseload. To liaise and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members. To maintain accurate records in line with best clinical governance, organisational requirements and the Freedom of Information Act To be responsible for supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants as required To develop skills in the specified clinical area and act as a resource for other staff grade occupational therapists To support occupational therapy colleagues and to maintain / develop professional standards and good working practice To undertake and participate in clinical audit as required To participate in research projects as required To ensure positive representation of the Occupational Therapy Service at all times To develop protocols and clinical care pathways where appropriate To be responsible for the direct supervision of Occupational Therapy Students or students of other disciplines assigned to the clinical area/department for training To be responsible for daily administration duties and overall management of caseload To attend and participate in ward rounds / case conferences and / or team meetings as required To be successful in this role, you will: BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent Hold full CORU registration. Hold a full drivers license. Positive approach to older people with mental health. Previous Clinical experience working in mental health with older adults ideally. Knowledge of Occupational therapy services, facilities and equipment. Ability to assess individual patient needs. Passion for healthy ageing and empowerment.
