Auxilion are looking for a Business Data Architect who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions that leverage Microsoft technologies while ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and usability. Permanent Position Dublin 12 & on site at customer site(s) and working from home - Hybrid. 7+ yearsexperience with Advanced knowledge of data modelling techniques (dimensional, relational, NoSQL). Extensive experience as a Data Architect with a specialisation in Data Semantic Layers, Big Data Models, and Microsoft platforms. Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration. Proficiency in big data technologies and architectures In-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services and their application in data solutions. Strong skills in SQL and data manipulation languages, Experience with data visualisation tools and techniques. Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts as they relate to data architecture and knowledge of data security protocols and best practices. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. As a Business Data Architect with expertise in Data Semantic Layers, Big Data Models, and extensive experience with Microsoft platforms, your role is critical in shaping the data architecture and strategy of the organisation. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions that leverage Microsoft technologies while ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and usability. Data Architecture Strategy: Define and lead the development of the data architecture strategy, aligning it with the organisation's business goals. Create a roadmap for data architecture that incorporates Data Semantic Layers, Big Data Models, and Microsoft platform solutions. Data Semantic Layers: Develop and maintain data semantic layers that provide a unified view of the organization's data, enabling consistent and meaningful access to data assets. Ensure that data is organized in a way that facilitates self-service reporting and analysis. Big Data Models: Design and implement complex data models for big data systems, including data lakes and warehouses, to support advanced analytics and machine learning. Optimise data models for performance, scalability, and data processing efficiency. Microsoft Platform Expertise: Utilize Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft tools to implement data solutions, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other relevant services. Work with Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and other Microsoft databases for data storage and retrieval. Data Integration and ETL: Implement ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data into data platforms, ensuring data quality and consistency. Develop data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or other Microsoft tools. Data Governance and Compliance: Implement data governance frameworks and oversee data compliance, ensuring that data is secure and adheres to relevant regulations and best practices. Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and data scientists, to understand requirements and deliver data solutions. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, semantic layers, and data architecture. Promote best practices in data architecture and Microsoft platform implementation. Research and Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Microsoft platform updates to continuously improve data solutions and architecture Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive experience as a Data Architect with a specialisation in Data Semantic Layers, Big Data Models, and Microsoft platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration. Excellent understanding of data governance, security, and compliance. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure and data-related technologies are a plus. Advanced knowledge of data modelling techniques (dimensional, relational, NoSQL) Expertise in designing and implementing data semantic layers. Proficiency in big data technologies and architectures In-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services and their application in data solutions Strong skills in SQL and data manipulation languages Experience with data visualization tools and techniques. Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts as they relate to data architecture. Knowledge of data security protocols and best practices Strong strategic thinking and ability to align data initiatives with business objectives. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and develop team members. Project management skills to oversee large-scale data initiatives. Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities Change management skills to facilitate adoption of new data architectures and processes.
