During your apprenticeship, you will be paid a weekly wage, financially supported for travel to college, or provided with accommodation. With BAM's construction sites located across the country, we endeavour to place you in a location of your choice-helping you answer the question, "What if my future starts here?" Your mission With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified metal fabricator, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft - Metal Fabrication. This apprenticeship is a 4 year programme consisting of 7 phases. 4 on-the-job and 3 off-the-job in a training facility. Working as a metal fabricator, your job will involve the installation and manufacture of a range of metallic systems to include pressure vessels; tank and boiler manufacture; structural steel systems; plate steel systems and piping systems. Your job will include the reading of drawings and working with materials such as low carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and aluminium. A metal fabricator uses skills such as measuring, marking out, cutting and welding materials using different processes and assembly techniques. As a metal fabricator, you will spend some time outdoors and may be required to work on heights. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a school or college leaver who is looking to start their career in the construction industry. You'll need good communication skills, be an excellent team worker but also be able to use your initiative. As this is an apprenticeship, you must be prepared to work towards your qualification whilst also working on site and gaining the experience you need to succeed. To undertake this apprenticeship, you must: Be at least 18 years of age. Have a QQI Level 5 (or equivalent). Have a Pass Grade in Maths & English at Level 5 (or Equivalent) at time of start date What's in it for you?
