We are excited to announce an opportunity for a talented and experienced Manual QA Engineer to join our Dublin-based financial services client. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where quality assurance plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of robust, reliable systems. The initial contract is for 3 months, with a strong possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA Test Analyst, with a focus on manual testing and API validation, combined with solid SQL skills and proficiency in using JIRA for test logging. While experience in the financial services sector is not mandatory, it will be considered a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities: In this role, the Manual QA Engineer will be responsible for: Developing, documenting, and executing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough coverage of system requirements. Conducting manual API testing to validate system functionality, reliability, and performance against business and technical specifications. Utilizing JIRA to log, track, and manage test cases, test progress, and any identified issues, ensuring clear documentation and traceability throughout the testing lifecycle. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business analysts, to identify and resolve defects and ensure alignment with project goals. Performing basic SQL queries to validate and verify data integrity within the database, ensuring accuracy and consistency in test environments. Actively contributing to the testing process by identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to enhance overall quality. Preparing and presenting test progress reports and defect analysis to stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and transparency. Essential Skills and Experience: To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA Test Analyst or in a similar QA role. Proven expertise in manual testing methodologies, including experience with API testing. Hands-on experience with JIRA for managing test cases, test logs, and defect tracking. Solid understanding of SQL, with the ability to perform basic queries to support test cases and validate database results. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desirable Experience: Prior exposure to projects within the financial services sector, providing an understanding of industry standards, compliance, and regulatory considerations.
