My Dublin based client is recruiting for a Data Governance Lead to join a growing team. This is a permanent role working on a hybrid model. Role Overview Lead enterprise-wide data governance initiatives to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of organizational data assets. This role is responsible for designing and executing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that align with strategic goals and meet regulatory compliance requirements. Job Responsibilities Data Governance Strategy Contribute to the development and communication of the organizations data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap. Define governance objectives, priorities, and performance indicators. Establish effective governance structures, roles, and responsibilities to ensure strong data stewardship and accountability. Policy and Process Development Assist in the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of data governance policies, standards, and procedures. Develop data classification models, ownership frameworks, and lifecycle management practices. Ensure all policies align with applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Data Quality Management Define and uphold data quality standards, including relevant processes, metrics, and monitoring systems. Work closely with data owners and subject matter experts to identify data quality concerns and root causes. Drive data quality improvement initiatives and implement corrective actions where necessary. Experience Required Proven track record in data governance, data management, or similar fields. In-depth knowledge of data governance concepts, frameworks, and industry best practices, with awareness of relevant data privacy and security regulations. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Skilled at influencing others and leading change within complex organizational structures. Educational Requirements Bachelors or masters degree in information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Certification in data governance or related areas is a bonus.
