Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working with Java or Python.
- Experience integrating Enterprise third-party systems (e.g., CRM, Billing, or SAP platforms and frameworks).
- Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with RESTful web services and the RESTful design principles.
- Experience in managing data in both relational and NoSQL databases, with a focus on optimizing performance.
- Experience owning project delivery through the software development lifecycle.

About the Job

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

The Application Engineering team aims to make a material, positive impact on Google Finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). In this role, you will innovate, design, architect, and implement large-scale data intensive systems.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

- Write clear, modular, well-structured, and self-sustaining codes, and develop overall systems design, research, and evaluate vendor supplied applications, and develop recommendations on applications.
- Build internal solutions, with custom front-end and back-end services with assistance, and identify processes and solutions to ensure control compliance can be enforced and monitored.
- Help design, build, and deploy internal business applications to support Google’s technology lifecycle, collaboration and spaces, service delivery management, and data and business intelligence.
- Conduct and oversee testing of application modules to ensure application meets specifications and collaborate with analysts and business process owners within one or more teams to help translate business requirements into technical solutions.
